CCP State-Owned Networks Offered on American Cable and Satellite TV Sytems
Looking for an add-on to your cable system to broaden your international horizons? Feel like watching some TV sponsored by the Communist Party of China? You're in luck! Your local cable or satellite service probably provides it. So, you can send your money directly to the CCP via your TV provider and they can reward you with communist-government-sponsored programming while you work on your Mandarin.
Below are the CCP channel lineups from America's largest cable and satellite TV systems (not necessarily an exhaustive list):
Among the selection offered in Verizon's Asian Packages are Phoenix InfoNews and CCTV-4.
Comcast aka Xfinity offers CCTV-4, Phoenix InfoNews, and Phoenix North America.
AT&T-owned DirecTV offers Phoenix Panorama.
Charter Communications aka Spectrum offers Phoenix Infonews.
Altice USA's Optimum TV service offers CCTV-4, Phoenix InfoNews, Phoenix North America, and Sino Television.
Mediacom's XStream service offers China Global Television Network (CGTN).
CCTV and CGTN are registered with the U.S. government as foreign agents under the Foreign Agent Registration Act. Their filings clearly show that they are state-owned entities. CCTV-4 is the American edition of China Central Television. CCTV was established at the direction of Mao Zedong to be the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party. It was set up after CCP members visited the Soviet Union and East Germany to study their state-controlled TV stations. CGTN is an off-shoot of, or newer version of CCTV.
So, why are the cable and satellite broadcasters carrying these channels in business with the Chinese Communist Party? Why are they helping them to spread their propaganda? Well, money, of course. Used to, patriotism went a lot further than it seems to now. "Partisanship stops at the water's edge" and all that. Now, apparently, globalism starts at the water's edge and the ATM.
Below is additional information on a couple of other networks that are known to be CCP media fronts. Intrepid Research has not found evidence that either have registered as foreign agents with the U.S. Department of Justice.

Phoenix TV - American Region
Phoenix Satellite Television entered the US market in 2000 and now already has over 200,000 viewers. Chinese families in the United States not only can receive the Phoenix American Channel and InfoNews Channel through DTH services, but can also receive them on cable systems from cable operators like Time Warner, Comcast, COX, AT&T, and IPTV from KyLin TV and other platforms.
Phoenix American Channel was the first foreign-based Chinese language television service to enter the Canadian market. In 2008 Phoenix InfoNews Channel also successfully entered Canada.
New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto are the five cities in North America with the largest Chinese populations. Phoenix Satellite Television is the first Chinese language television broadcaster that entered the cable systems in all five of these cities.
In 2008 Phoenix Satellite Television began to enter the second tier of cities with Chinese communities and has already entered cable systems in such places as Washington, Boston and San Diego.
In 2009, Phoenix InfoNews Channel and Phoenix American Channel were entered Verizon Fios TV and AT&T National Network System. AT&T is the largest telephone and telegraph company in the USA.
The Phoenix North American Channel and InfoNews Channel were also through Kylin TV and ADTH, and entered some of the local cable networks to cover Central and South America.
Phoenix North America Chinese Channel
Launched on January 1, 2001, Phoenix North America Chinese Channel features 24/7 of local and global news, current affairs, talk shows, popular drama series, variety shows, in-depth finance reports and live interviews concerning the Chinese community in Americas. It broadcasts on all major satellite, cable and IP television platforms, including DirecTV, Dish, Galaxy 3C, Bell, Comcast, Time Warner, COX, Charter, Cablevision, Frontier, Rogers, Shaw, Telus, Columbus, AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS, iTalkTV, Kylin TV, Charming China, ADTH, etc. covering North and South America.

Sino Television aka SinoVision appears to masquerade as an independent U.S.-based television network. However, according to Reuters, SinoVision collaborates with CCTV, International Channel Shanghai, and Beijing TV, all state-owned media entities of the PRC & CCP.
A monograph published by the Hoover Institution, China's Influence & America's Interests (Report of the Working Group on Chinese Influence Activities in the United States), confirmed our suspicion: "In the early 1990s, the state-owned China News Service and the Overseas Chinese Office of the State Council dispatched editorial personnel to the United States to found the Chinese-language TV broadcaster SinoVision..." to push back against negative publicity following the Tiananmen Square massacre.
According to NY Department of State documents, Sinovision was formed in 1989, just months after Tiananmen. SinoVision's ownership is a bit unclear. No doubt the corporate layering is intentional. Records show the CEO to be Kung Shum, who appears to also be CEO of Ya Zhou Wen Hua Enterprises Limited, who's NYC address is linked to a travel agency called China Link Holding Inc. SinoVision is not registered as a foreign agent with the Department of Justice.
Finally, it's not just major cable and satellite systems that carry this programming. WMBC is a local independent station covering parts of NY, NJ, PA, and CT. It was originally founded as a Christian network by a Korean minister. He has since transferred ownership to his sons. To their credit, WMBC now carries NTD News, an independent news channel that seeks to report real news from China and expose the CCP. However, WMBC also carries SinoVision.
Contact WMBC and tell them SinoVision is Chinese government television, posing as an American media company and ask them why they are broadcasting communist-sponsored programming. Send them this article, even.

My 3 year old granddaughter was watching an animated children's show, and they were teaching kids how to say words in Mandarin. But not any other languages, like the omnipresent Spanish. At least that might give the next generation a linguistic head-start when we allow our country to be taken over by the CCP, through the incremental sellout that is happening now. Once they buy enough of our "leaders," media, corporations and land, it will be a done deal, and too many low-information Americans will even be aware of it.
